Army Aviation Support Facility

Boro Construction has teamed with Senate Builders for the Construction of a new Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) for the New Jersey Army National Guard at Joint Base MDL, Lakehurst, New Jersey.

The project includes construction of a new complete and fully functional modern Army Aviation Complex where maintenance, flight operations, flight line services, administration, and both ground and aviation training are conducted. The new facilities include hangar facilities, specialized work areas (such as: allied shops, special tools room, repair parts room, accessory equipment storage, electronic security systems, contractor shop/storage, controlled waste handling facility, bulk POL storage and flammable/combustible storage), Administration Areas for flight operations and maintenance, Aviation Life Support Equipment, training areas, lockers, slots toilet rooms and shower, and Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Telecommunications, Structural, Architectural, Site/Civil, and Fire Suppression support elements and equipment. Additional components of the project include demolition of existing structures, pavements, demolition of portions of existing utilities, site preparation, earthwork, grading and stabilization, landscaping, fencing, sidewalks, loading area, drive-on/drive-off secondary containment area, paving for MV parking and maneuvering, aircraft parking and maneuvering, curbs, flexible paving for POV parking access roadways and maneuvering, exterior lighting, new utilities, stormwater management, a detached facility sign, and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection measures.

New Woodbridge High School

This project consists of a new high school of approximately 150,000 square feet with classrooms, laboratories, administration, shops, a gymnasium, and an auditorium. The classrooms are two-story with the remaining sections one-story. The building will consist of structural steel framing, elevated concrete floors on steel framing, and open web slabs. Exterior walls will have a masonry veneer with a combination of cold-formed steel studs and masonry back-up. The project also includes a Greenhouse, Athletic, and Concession Facility.

BORO CONSTRUCTION is the Masonry Prime Contractor on this project.

EDC Bldg 2001 Roof & Mechanical Replacement

The work includes total tear-off of the existing EPDM and rigid insulation from existing roof; replace with adhered EPDM membrane utilizing a recovery board over new rigid insulation. Replace existing skylights/smoke vents. Existing roof drainage and overflow shall be brought up to code compliance. Portions of the roof deck shall be replaced. Inspection from underside of roof deck during construction by contractor to determine replacement of damaged roof deck. Upgrade or replacement of HVAC systems, including chilled water system, air handling units, water treatment systems, HVAC control system, piping systems, domestic hot water systems, and other HVAC systems indicated. Repair of the lightning protection system and electrical support for mechanical systems.

Building 7 Upgrades, Picatinny Arsenal

Construction and demolition work for the replacement and upgrading of the existing ventilation and exhaust systems for the 100M Firing Range, 300M Firing Range, the Water Trap Area and Firing Ranges, and Weapons Cleaning and Gun Room in Building 7 at Picatinny Arsenal.

The work includes mechanical heating, cooling, exhaust, and ventilation upgrades as well as architectural and acoustical improvements to the existing 100M and 300M Ranges and Water Trap Area. New acoustical enclosures and sallyports will also be constructed. All related electrical, architectural, structural, and incidental work is also included. Boro is the single overall Prime Contractor on this project.

Northampton Community College Monroe Campus

This project includes construction of three additions and a new parking lot, including site work, for the Northampton Community College Monroe Campus located in Tannersville, Pennsylvania. Boro is the Electrical Prime Contractor on this project.

Academy Park High School Additions & Renovations

This project consists of 156,438 square feet of renovations to the existing High School building with 3 new additions totaling 28,263 square feet. The 14,628 square feet classroom addition is three stories and will have 12 new classrooms. The 8,843 square feet Health and Physical Education addition will have 2 new health classrooms, a weight room, and a wrestling room. The 4,842 square feet Performing Arts addition will have 2 new music rooms and a graphic arts lab. The building will remain fully occupied during construction. Boro is the General Contractor on this project.

Downingtown S.T.E.M. Academy Renovations & Addition

This project consists of the building of a small addition that holds a new two-sided elevator. Selective demolition to 120,000 sq.ft. of existing partitions, and construction of new partitions and doors. Replacement of floor and ceiling finishes. Complete demolition and replacement of the mechanical systems, plumbing fixtures & fittings. Installation of automatic fire suppression throughout the building. Reinstallation of existing lighting fixtures and provision of new lighting fixtures. Also, provision of power and data distribution throughout the building. modifications to the existing site to provide handicapped accessibility to the primary entry.

Central Bucks High School East Addition & Renovations

This project consists of renovations to the existing 297,000 sq. ft. school originally built in 1970, with a small addition added in 1974 and a major classroom addition in 1997. There will be a two-story 14 classroom Science Wing addition and two small additions including a Toilet Facility and Fitness Room addition totaling approximately 30,000 sq. ft. The majority of the renovations will take place in the 1974 portions of the building and include finishes, casework, ceilings, lights, fire alarm, fire suppression, lockers, plumbing, and major mechanical equipment replacement.

P-150V Design-Build Helicopter Hangars & Marine Group HQ

This $66.5 million helicopter hangar facility designed by FSB encompasses 106,475 sq ft and includes one Type I and one Type II hangar bays for helicopter maintenance for the HMH-772 Squadron and Marine Aircraft Group Headquarters (MAG-49 HQ) is being relocated from Willow Grove Naval Air Station, Pennsylvania, and the HMLA-775 Detachment A being relocated from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The facility also includes a two-level Support Shop and Administrative spaces, Material Storage Warehouse, extensive apron parking for 16 helicopters, including a Hot Pit Refueling area, and parking for 180 POV. The project will include an in-floor AFFF Fire Protection System, overhead bridge cranes, AT/FP provision, and be LEED certified.
