This $66.5 million helicopter hangar facility designed by FSB encompasses 106,475 sq ft and includes one Type I and one Type II hangar bays for helicopter maintenance for the HMH-772 Squadron and Marine Aircraft Group Headquarters (MAG-49 HQ) is being relocated from Willow Grove Naval Air Station, Pennsylvania, and the HMLA-775 Detachment A being relocated from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The facility also includes a two-level Support Shop and Administrative spaces, Material Storage Warehouse, extensive apron parking for 16 helicopters, including a Hot Pit Refueling area, and parking for 180 POV. The project will include an in-floor AFFF Fire Protection System, overhead bridge cranes, AT/FP provision, and be LEED certified.
